The HK Prize for Ophthalmology and the Hong Kong Prize for Arts and Culture

The Hong Kong Prize (HK Prize) is an illustrious award presented annually for outstanding original articles published in the Hong Kong Journal of Ophthalmology (HKJO) by trainees and fellows of the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong. It is supported by the Timothy KC Liu Fund. The winner of the top award will receive a cash prize of HK$10,000; second and third prize winners will each be presented with cash prizes totalling $20,000. Furthermore, all three prizewinners will be invited to an awards ceremony in Hong Kong to receive their awards and be recognized as outstanding ophthalmologists within their community. Applicants interested in applying can download an application form from the website of the HK Prize and send their submission to be judged by a panel of judges, with winning entries invited to Hong Kong to present in person to them in November 30. Submission Deadline. Winners of the HK Prize will receive a cash prize of HK$10,000 as well as a trophy, while runners-up will be presented with cash awards totalling HK$20,000 and another trophy. Finally, third place will receive an amount equaling $25,000. Since 2008, over one hundred young people have received the Hong Kong Prize for Youth award. Many have gone on to become professional designers, entrepreneurs, artists, or scientists; others pursue higher education; yet others establish social enterprises or charities of their own. The HK Prize for Youth’s goal is to encourage young people’s creativity while taking leadership roles within their communities. From today (October 4) until November 4 at its G/F Exhibition Hall, the Hong Kong Science Museum is hosting an exhibition on the 2024 Future Science Prize. This showcase presents all four scientists who have won it thus far as well as its laureates this year and features exhibits related to their research and achievements. Hong Kong Prize for Arts and Culture’s primary goal is to foster and support the growth, development and promotion of Hong Kong’s cultural sector. Established in 2007, this leading Asian art competition is run by Hong Kong Foundation for Arts and Culture with support from City Council of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Film Awards is an annual awards ceremony honoring film professionals in Hong Kong. Comprised of 19 regular categories and selected by a panel of judges comprised of representatives from thirteen professional film bodies in Hong Kong, winners are chosen by an expert judging panel that includes film critics, industry professionals and academics; winning films are honored with certificates, plaques and trophies – with lifetime achievement awards also presented from time to time by The Hong Kong Film Archive who co-sponsor this event since its inception.
