The Hong Kong Laureate Forum is a world-class academic exchange event, connecting current and next-generation leaders in scientific pursuit. This annual gathering encourages students to become science explorers while cultivating an interest for further research advancement.
This year, HKLF is offering students the “Exploring New Horizons 2024” program as an excellent opportunity to visit local universities and research institutions to discover scientists’ work and study it firsthand. Furthermore, students will have an excellent opportunity to meet this year’s Shaw Laureates and learn more about their outstanding contributions in various scientific fields.
HKLF will host the “Hari Art Prize 2024”, to promote and assist self-taught artists as they develop their artistic talent, making valuable contributions to society. Artists may submit artworks by registering online; submission deadline is 31 August 2024.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club, which operates the Mark Six lottery, announced on Thursday that its special New Year Snowball draw produced no winner and saw its jackpot increase to over HK$138 million – marking only the fourth occasion since handover of Hong Kong to China where a jackpot has gone unclaimed in over four decades!
A HK Jockey Club representative noted that lottery has provided hope and hope-giving revenue for many over four decades, as the mark six lottery is an integral source of community revenue. Furthermore, they pledged their dedication to ensure proceeds of lotteries continue to benefit local communities via government’s Lotteries Fund.
