The HK$5,000 Prize provides innovators a platform to present their ideas on shaping Hong Kong’s international development efforts and its role on the world stage. Organized annually by Generocity and Hong Kong Global Development Foundation in celebration of Hong Kong’s commitment to sustainable development and international cooperation, this annual competition serves as an outlet for innovators wishing to contribute their insight.
This year’s finalists will be selected by an esteemed panel of judges led by Professor Wong Wei-kwan and Dr Lam Wai-hung, among others. From these finalists will come three finalists chosen by these esteemed professionals and eventually one winner announced at an awards ceremony held on 28 April 2022.
To increase support of local runners, the 25th Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon will raise prize money in its Marathon Challenge category in order to encourage more people to take up this challenging yet rewarding sport. Permanent residents completing it in less than 3 hours for men (sub-3 for them and sub 3:30 for them) or less than 3:30 hours (sub 3:30) for women will also receive an extra prize – further showing its community spirit!
Apart from the usual prize of HK$500,000 awarded to each division winner, top 10 finishers in each of four sections will receive prizes totaling up to a maximum of HK$200,000 each. In addition, Standard Chartered will present an award to honour “Most Inspirational Runner.”
Mabel Cheung’s controversial documentary To My Nineteen-Year-Old Self was the big winner at this year’s Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA). Detective Vs Sleuths also earned numerous honours, with director Wai Ka Fai receiving the best actor prize and actress Michelle Yeoh serving as host for the evening.
To ensure the fairness of each draw, numerous measures have been implemented to guarantee its legitimacy. Employees from HKJC’s security and customer service departments routinely inspect all materials used for it – ranging from boxing equipment to X-ray machines – while balls used are measured and weighed before each round begins and after.
SHKS will host and administer the inaugural ICAS Book Prize (IBP) for Best Article on Global Hong Kong Studies. SHKS is a non-profit professional association dedicated to encouraging dialogues and collaborations among scholars and students interested in exploring Hong Kong’s complex connections to the rest of the world, both contemporary and historical. Furthermore, it serves as an affiliate of Association for Asian Studies.
